As the spring is upon us and new members join our organization the entire Ted Berry Co. Inc. Team is pleased you have decided to join us. We hope your experience with our team will be challenging and rewarding. While we tend to work hard, we also like to have fun. So, as you settle in, we ask that you become an active participant in the organization. Ask questions, make suggestions and find opportunities to learn. We are excited to have you with us and look forward to your contributions.
Workplace safety is one of our top priorities and the prevention of accidents is one of our most important duties. Each and every employee has responsibility for safety in the workplace. It is this joint commitment that helps us provide a safe and healthy workplace for employees, customers, and visitors.
Our continued success depends on everyone being alert and committed to safety. When it comes to safety, we believe that there is nothing we do that is so urgent or important that we cannot take the time to do it safely.
We regularly communicate with employees about workplace safety and health issues. We accomplish this through supervisor/employee meetings, bulletin board postings, memos, and other forms of communication.
Safety demands cooperation on everyone’s part. Workers who notice hazards or other safety problems, or feel that they need additional training, are expected to discuss their concerns with their supervisor or a member of management. Supervisors and management must address these concerns and take corrective action when warranted.
We regularly provide employees with safety training. In general, our safety training covers possible safety and health hazards as well as safe work practices and procedures to eliminate or reduce hazards. Everyone is obligated to know the safety requirements and standards for their area or job, and just as important, to abide by them. It is the duty of all employees to perform their work with maximum regard for the safety of themselves and co-workers.
Our safety policies are based on past experience and current standards, and are also an integral part of the company’s personnel policies. This means that compliance with the policies is a condition of employment and must be taken seriously. Failure to comply is sufficient grounds for disciplinary action or for termination of employment.
Safety and health are every bit as important in this organization as productivity and quality. In fact, they go hand in hand. Of course the best reason for you to observe these policies is because it’s in your own self-interest to do so. Conscientiously following them can help you stay safe, healthy, and able to work, play, and enjoy life to its fullest.
Sincerely,
